Jana is a senior at Parsons School of Design, completing her BFA in Architectural Design. Raised in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, she is passionate about creating architecture that harmonizes with the natural environment while reflecting the stories, traditions, and identities of the communities it serves. She believes every culture holds a unique palette of materials, colors, and design language, and a story that needs to be told through structures. She strives to integrate these elements into her work—blending traditional philosophies and techniques with contemporary design to honor the past and engage with the future.
In every project, she begins with extensive research into the people, natural surroundings, and local architecture, materials, and climate. Her approach is hands-on and adaptive, involving model-making, sketching, and program development, all customized to the specific site’s conditions. She sees architecture as a storytelling medium, where each design detail expresses a history and the potential for future growth. Her goal is to create immersive, multi-sensory experiences that connect people to their environment and each other in meaningful ways, crafting spaces that are visually inspiring, comforting, and experiential engaging all the senses to deepen the user experience, both on the exterior and interior. Ultimately, she aspires to create buildings that are sustainable, innovative, and richly expressive, bridging global design innovations with local narratives and supporting the growth and resilience of the communities she designs for.
